The History of Braille

Braille has provided many blind individuals and those with visual impairments with the ability to read and write utilizing a tactile system of raised dots. The following is an interesting article that provides a short history of the Braille system of communication that has evolved from a French military combat code to the method in use today as developed by Louis Braille in the mid-1800s.
